Please join us next Saturday, April 2nd, for a good old fashioned barnraising.
It’s a family-friendly event and all are welcome, whether you come to watch, to work, to cheer us on, or just meet some of our new neighbors. If you are new to Dharma Rain, its a great way to get to know us in a more in a fun, casual setting.
In the morning (9-12) we will focus on putting the panels of the building together and then raise them into position. We’ll break for lunch at noon, and then finish off the work in the afternoon as the festivities begin. In the afternoon and evening we’ll have a barbecue dinner and dancing in the new barn. The barn we are raising will have workshop, garden shed, greenhouse, and storage functions.
As we finish the work, we’ll have a old-time group playing. The Double File String Band and a caller will lead us through dancing starting at 4pm, followed by an barbecue dinner starting after 5pm.
The event doubles as an annual fundraiser, (donations accepted during dessert, or anytime). This helps raise funds to keep Dharma Rain’s doors open and our programs running.
Feel free to come for any part of the program, so bring work boots, dancing shoes, or both… No cover charge, no need to register, just show up, lend a hand, and have a good time!
