Spring is coming in fits and starts, as is usual with March, one day sunny, the next stormy, windy, and rainy. Several flowering plants are blooming – here are rosemary, forsythia, and plum trees. Frogs and birds are singing, geese are flying, and ducks are on the ponds. It will be a while before we can leave jackets at home, but there is at least the promise of spring coming soon.
Lotus Blooming, Phase 2
As many have noticed, we have been making good progress in getting the dormitories ready to go. We are currently working on plumbing and sheetrock and hope to have use of the buildings in early April. On the fundraising side of things, our goal for Phase 2 of the Lotus Blooming Capital Campaign is $55,000, which was the outstanding amount needed to complete the project. We have secured all of that except $10,778. So, we’re very close. Please help us finish it off! Especially if you have not made a donation to Lotus Blooming so far, please consider making a donation today.
Saturday, March 17
We will have a special Saturday work party on March 17 to do interior painting in the dormitories. Come out and join the fun with fellow sangha members.
Wednesday Work Parties
We have regular Wednesday work parties from around 9:30am to 3:30pm. There is plenty of work for people to do, inside and outside, light and heavy. Come for as much or little of the time as you wish. We have tools and gloves, but if you have your own, feel free to bring them. If you are around at 12:30pm, we feed you lunch.
