Dharma Rain News

Work continues on the duplexes. Gary is tearing out parts of a wall. Phyllis and Nancy are sweeping up the debris. In the process, they discovered an apparently-abandoned nest inside a light fixture. We don’t know for sure what kind of bird left it there.

In addition, the garden is beginning to produce food for the kitchen. Weeding and harvesting, mowing, and other garden work is ongoing. Tenzo Shin’yu and other cooks are enjoying the fresh bounty.

We are also beginning to hand-water trees during this hot dry weather, both in the orchard and along the streets. Natalie sits on the truck waiting for one of the large water drums to fill up to take it to thirsty trees.

Wednesday Work Parties

Note that NEXT WEEK, the week of camp, July 9-15, we will not have work parties, since most of the staff will be gone to camp.
