Dharma Rain News

The Dogwood group expresses exuberance over their skit “Princesses of Porkland.” As always, a good time was had by all for the last Sunday of Dharma School for this year. The Doug Fir group presented Gyokuko with a hand-made book of photos and text of thanks for her support of Dharma School over the years.

Next on the agenda is Dharma Camp this summer. Dharma School starts up again in September.

A group of about ten people from the Rose Villa Retirement Community in Milwaukie visited on Wednesday, toured the property, had their own mid-day sit, and joined us for lunch. They were very impressed with what we’ve done so far and what we hope to accomplish! The Rose Villa Sitting Group meets every Thursday morning. Shin’yu leads the group every other week. All are welcome to join us.

Special thanks to Gale’s Meadow Farm, Portland Nursery and several individuals for donations of starts! Also to Wood Waste Management for a donation of compost. The gardens are growing beautifully.

We will be moving out of the Siskiyou House at the end of June, so as not to renew a year-long lease. Residents at that house are moving into the 85th House. If you are interested in renting the house (which has a wonderful view of the property), please contact staff for contact information for the most excellent landlord.

Wednesday Work Parties

We have work parties most Wednesdays from 9am to 3:30pm, and there is plenty of work for people to do, inside and outside, light and heavy. Come for as much or little of the time as you wish. We have tools and gloves, but if you have your own, feel free to bring them. If you are around at 12:30pm, we feed you lunch.
