Planting Zen in Siskiyou Square
Among the many wonderful dharma events we’ve been enjoying this month was Diana Keishin Saltoon’s sharing of The Way of Tea last Sunday.
Even though the Sodo is “finished,” and we are pausing to sit still and enjoy the beauty of the building and grounds, there is still some work going on. The geo-mats for the eventual residence dorms is finished, with the dirt pile that came out of those holes redistributed. The installation of the doors dividing spaces in the Sodo is still being finished, and several other small jobs are ongoing inside the Sodo. Also, many people are working in the gardens, which are looking good and already producing some food that we are using for meals.
Wednesday work parties are back! These have been suspended during the month of May because of the May Sit. NEXT Wednesday, however, is June 1, which means we will resume Wednesday work parties. Come to the property between 9:30am and 3pm, and look for people near the Sodo. We have a lot of different kinds of work available to do, and if you are around for lunch time (12:30pm), you get lunch provided.
