Planting Zen in Siskiyou Square
Work continues on drywall inside the Sodo. Here workers are putting the sheetrock into the skylights. The building is being transformed! The sheetrock is almost all in, and taping has begun.
Much of the exterior of the Sodo has been painted, and looks beautiful. In addition, the Founders Shrine has been painted to match the color of the Sodo.
Outdoor work this week included backfilling the outdoor faucets near the garden (and yes, we have used them to water the gardens already! so much easier than hauling water in).
We have work parties most Wednesdays from about 9:30am to about 3:30pm. Park nearby, walk in by the path, and look for people out toward the Sodo. Most of those days we will also be doing zazen in Uji from 11:30am to 12:25pm, followed by lunch at 12:30pm at the 85th house (3155 NE 85th, a block from the main gate).
