Kakumyo and LaShelle Yoan Lowe-Charde will be co-teaching the Seven Factors of Enlightenment.

Sometimes you feel like you are sleepwalking through your life. One day melts into the next and you feel like you are skimming along the surface. Perhaps you are looking for something more, but can’t always put your finger on it. This class will introduce you to fundamental practices that support you in living a life with more ease and fulfillment. The Seven Factors of Enlightenment is an early Buddhist teaching that describes our dance with enlightenment. The seven factors are: mindfulness, discernment, energy, bliss, serenity, concentration, and equanimity. For each class we will discuss one factor as it is defined in the Pali Canon, in the Zen tradition, and how it shows up in daily life. You will then have the opportunity to experience and practice that factor through a structured exercise, followed by a debrief.
