Classes Currently Open for Registration
Methods of Practice is a cohort-based independent study that meets on Zoom for three Thursdays during the Fall.
It is open to seminary students who enrolled in seminary in 2017 or earlier.
Registration Deadline September 10.
This all-day workshop (plus pre- and post-assignments) covers ethics; team leadership skills; dynamics of power; diversity, equity, inclusion issues; mentoring and apprenticeship methods, and more. Students must have either completed the five core Seminary classes or have been enrolled in Seminary since 2017 or before.
The workshop will be held in person on campus (strongly preferred – the workshop will likely be small), with a Zoom option for those who are unable to attend otherwise. See our guidelines for how to attend in person – i.e., everyone wears a mask, maintains distance, sanitizes hands on entering the building, etc. We will also meet as much as we can outdoors, as the weather permits. Bring your own lunch for the lunch break.
Registration Deadline August 20.
This fall, the Seminary program will offer Dogen, one of the five core courses. Kakumyo will be teaching the class, which will meet mostly weekly from September to mid-November. There will be difficult reading required for each class, along with several extra assignments. The course will cover selections from Dogen’s major writings, and will involve lecture and discussions.
Registration Deadline August 27
