Wednesday Classes: Koans
8500 NE Siskiyou St
Portland, OR 97220
USA
This 8-week series explores koans. Koans are brief exchanges that reveal an aspect of enlightening activity. If you’ve ever wondered what these mysterious stories are, why they are useful, how to practice with them, this class is for you. The class is participatory, and will consist of a mix of lecture, discussion, and mindfulness exercises. Koans explored will draw from both classic and modern collections. Taught by Kakumyo.
All Wednesday night classes are open to the public. There is no charge, though donations are gratefully accepted. If you’re new, come 10-15 minutes early for orientation from the Greeter.
This class is in-person only, no Zoom option, though it is recorded. Audio files can be found here.
