This will be an in person event. It will be limited to 25 and you must be willing to follow the guidelines set up by the Health and safety Committee.
This four-hour Zazenkai provides a welcoming space especially designed for elders and others who feel the need for less rigorous form and yet want to do serious Zen practice. The schedule will include about 3 hours of sitting and walking meditation. All meditation postures, including reclining, are welcome. You’re also welcome to meditate outside the sodo.
More than half of the meditation will be untimed to encourage you to experiment with finding physically and mentally sustainable ways to do your own practice. Sanzen will be offered. This is an in-person event and will not be broadcast online.
Because of the Covid pandemic, if you think you’ll want to do some reclining meditation please bring a clean sheet that you can spread over the zabutons. Also, check the Dharma Rain website for health and safety guidelines about attending in-person events at the center.
Registration will close on July 8.
