With reluctance, we are cancelling the Three Robes retreat. Conditions remain quite hazardous in our area. Predictions over the next few days are inconsistent as weather and fire behavior shift. We do not feel it is safe to proceed with a retreat that includes freedom of movement as a core part of the schedule. Fees will be refunded.
Please use the links below to join us for morning service and zazen. It is the same link we use for regular Ango morning service.

The Buddha told his followers that they could wear one, two, or three robes. Each was free to choose what was most helpful in their circumstances. The Three Robes retreat is a way to honor our freedom to practice in the way that works for each of us. It provides the challenge of a schedule and a community, while allowing each participant to choose the posture and the movement they need.
This retreat is available to anyone, even those with no retreat experience, or significant physical restrictions. There are fewer bells, and during the long meditation periods, you are able to move from sitting to standing, walking or lying down as you need. There is no late-night meditation and rest periods are available. For the more experienced practitioner, the unstructured meditation periods allow a chance to deepen fully into zazen without interruption.
