Inside-OutInside Out is a 2015 animated film produced by Pixar and is set in the mind of a young girl where five personified emotions try to lead her through a difficult transition as her parents move from Minnesota to San Francisco and she struggles to adjust to her new surroundings.

Pete Docter, the director and story author, based the plot upon the changes he noticed in his own daughter’s personality as she grew older, and the film’s makers consulted numerous psychologists who helped revise the story by emphasizing the neuropsychological findings that human emotions affect interpersonal relationships and can be significantly moderated by them.

Inside Out received numerous awards, including an Academy Award, and was named the 41st best film of the 21st century from a poll of 177 film critics.
