Dharma Rain News

Last Saturday, teens connected with the Blueprint Foundation spent time on the land, learning how to use the tractor and mower, and helping with various gardening tasks. They seemed to have fun with this, and it was a big help in the garden.

This Saturday morning, from 9-noon, we will have a garden work party so everyone can get in on the fun. Please come by and get your fingers in the dirt.

Sarah has been working hard to clear out overgrown beds in preparation for planting new vegetables in the garden, and in the process she found and harvested a lot of beautiful overwintered greens that she and Tenzo Shin’yu are washing and prepping for freezing (and we’ve also been eating them fresh, of course).

Check for Coats

It’s the time of year when people bring coats in the morning when it’s cold, and forget about them when they leave later in the day when it’s warmer. Please check to see whether you have a jacket or coat in the foyer at the Sodo. We will soon be putting extras into the Lost and Found, and eventually moving them along.

Eric Kosen Johnson works in one of the dormitories.

Wednesday Work Parties

We have regular Wednesday work parties from around 9:30am to 3:30pm. There is plenty of work for people to do, inside and outside, light and heavy. Come for as much or little of the time as you wish. We have tools and gloves, but if you have your own, feel free to bring them. We have an open mid-day sitting meditation in the zendo from 11:30am to 12:30pm that all are welcome to join. If you are around at 12:30pm, we feed you lunch.
