Siskiyou Update

On Saturday, January 10, we held our annual Kanzeon Festival in the Sodo, which was wonderful. We even had heat, which is not something we should get used to, but was nice for that day. (They were heating the building as a way of drying it out before putting on the roof.) The couple of small leaks that surfaced as it rained have been repaired. Those of us who participated in the Festival can report that the acoustics are good in that hall, and it really felt good to do that Festival there.

62new-currant-bushesWe had another wonderful work party on Wednesday, January 14, with sunny weather, though windy. All of the exterior taping is now done. Work continues on the roof, and if you look closely you will see the first small section of the metal roof in place as of Thursday morning. In the foreground you can also see the gravel pad that will have a construction trailer put on it soon. We also planted new donated currant bushes in the garden area.

We have work days every Wednesday from about 9:30am to about 3pm. Lunch is provided to those around at noon. Contact Kakumyo [kakumyo at dharma-rain.org] to let him know you’re coming so he can plan, and come on down to 85th and Siskiyou to join the fun.
