Planting Zen in Siskiyou Square

P0811bounty1-900Summer’s bounty is coming on, with this donation gracing our counter top this morning. In addition, fresh tomatoes, basil, mint and other herbs, potatoes, beets, plums and berries have been coming from our own gardens.

Yesterday the Oregon Tradeswomen were back for their fourth and last round of framing in the workshop/barn. Our own trusty crew of staff and volunteers will take over to finish it, hopefully within the next month of so. Groundwork was here as well, continuing to work on a community garden. Wednesday’s work party did a lot of work, both inside and outside the Sodo, with some new faces among the regular volunteers.

Regular Wednesday work parties are a great way to spend time with sangha doing useful things on the property. There are plenty of tasks for everyone who shows up between 9:30-3pm. If you are around for lunch time (12:30pm), you get lunch for free.
